We are a running club located in Buffalo, New York. With a firm commitment to "fitness, health, and well-being for life", we service a membership of approximately 500 runners from Western New York and Southern Ontario. The club holds weekly, Tuesday night workout sessions coached by Bob Carroll. We sponsor several local races, including the Buffalo Mile, the Checkers Tavern "Pie" Race, the Ring-Road Relay, and a High School Cross Country Invitational for the top scholastic athletes in WNY. Checkers' members go on the road to participate in marathons, cross-country meets, and indoor track events. We also host monthly and annual social events including happy hours, fun runs, a summer picnic, and a holiday party. The club maintains this web site and a monthly newsletter. To know more about our club, its' history, and sponsored events, check out the About Us menu. For news about the club and recent newsletters, go to News. For recent and archived photos from 1998 to the present, check out Pics. For many local and state race results, check out our Results menu.
